5 European Music Festivals you could go to instead of Glastonbury.

Didn't get Glastonbury 2016 tickets? Don't worry, it'll be cold, wet and muddy anyway and the whole thing is on the BBC. Why not try something different this year and head to one of Europe's musical festivals instead? Here are 5 of the best.

The Edge of the Lake festival does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a music festival, and it's on the edge of a lake. To be exact, it's a stunning summer alpine lake and beachside setting at Sierre which is in the Alps. The festival takes place in June and whilst you probably won't have heard of anyone on the line-up, you won't really care once you're there.

The Garden festival is Croatia's original electronic music festival, with a stunning setting and a massive lineup, expect beautiful weather and an epic experience.

Rock En Seine is a three day rock music festival held at Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, the Château de Saint-Cloud's park, west of Paris, inside the garden designed by André Le Nôtre.  This year saw Jamie XX, Years & Years and Alt J among the lineup.

This is the festival everyone's been talking about in recent years.  Alt J, James Blake, The Black Keys and The Strokes all played in 2015.

This stunning Nordic festival saw the likes of Florence and the Machine, Alt J, Beck, Diplo, Pet Shop Boys and Years & Years take to the stage in 2015 and this is definitely our pick of the crop.  Tickets are already on sale for 2016 at the brilliant early bird price of just 159 euro.
