Sure, there's nothing we'd rather wake up to in the morning than a bacon butty, but like so many people nowadays, we're also partial to a healthy pick-me-up first thing in the morning.

One of our favourite breakfasts here in The Version office is 'Overnight Porridge' and here's how you make it...


  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned or rolled oats, uncooked

  • 100 gram yogurt cup, any flavour

  • 3 tbsp semi skimmed milk


  • fresh fruit (berries ideally)

  • chia seeds

  • chopped nuts

  • cinnamon

  • Cocoa Nibs

It only takes a few minutes to prep and the recipe itself couldn't be easier.

  1. In a small bowl, Tupperware container or mason jar, stir together uncooked old-fashioned or rolled oats, yogurt, milk and optional chia seeds. Cover and place in your fridge for a minimum of 6 hours to let the oats soak up some of the liquid.

  2. Remove from fridge and add desired fruit, nuts and spices. If the oats are too thick for your liking, feel free to add an extra tablespoon of milk.
