MUSIC: Jake Shears to perform on Ken Bruce's Radio 2 show this week
Jake Shears, who shot to fame as lead singer of the band Scissor Sisters, performs live in the Radio 2 Piano Room later this week.
He will be performing music from his debut solo album, Creep City, as well as an exclusive cover. This is the Scissor Sisters frontman's first full-length work since the group's album Magic Hour and hiatus in 2012. Following the hiatus announcement, Jake spent a few lost years in Los Angeles, before taking an ever-increasing number of visits to New Orleans, which became a new muse and home. Jake has also performed on Broadway in New York this year in the Kinky Boots musical and releases his autobiography in tandem with the new album.
The Radio 2 Piano Room has hosted previous performances from stars including Elkie Brooks, The Shires, Gary Barlow, The Script, Christine McVie, Craig David and Joan Armatrading. Former Scissor Sisters vocalist, Ana Matronic broadcasts two hours of music from across the dance music spectrum in her new show on BBC Radio 2, Ana Matronic’s Dance Devotion, which is on Saturdays at midnight.
Listen to Ken Bruce's show on Wednesday from 9am to hear Jake perform.
