Revealed: This is who BBC Radio 2 bosses have asked to replace Chris Evans.
BBC bosses have offered the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show to Zoe Ball.
A report in The Sun claims the popular TV and radio host has been offered the job and a deal is set to be signed within two weeks.
A BBC source is quoted as saying Zoe is favourite over Sara Cox, who Chris Evans himself had tipped for the role on air.
The source says “We are in advanced negotiations with Zoe to replace Chris. A contract hasn’t been signed and her new pay hasn’t yet been agreed. But she was our number one choice and has been offered the job. If Zoe turns it down it will be offered to Sara, guaranteeing there will be a female hosting our flagship radio show for the first time.”
Zoe currently presents a Saturday afternoon show on the station and regularly fills in for morning show host Ken Bruce.
