TV: Documentary maker Stacey Dooley is confirmed for Strictly!
Stepping out of her comfort zone is second nature to award-winning documentary maker Stacey Dooley, so surely Strictly won’t be too much of a challenge. Right?
As with everything she takes on – whether it’s investigating sweatshop slavery or meeting women on the frontline of war – Stacey is ready to give the competition her all. “I’m looking forward to throwing myself completely into it all,” she said. “I wanna get super fit, nail the routines, and live my best life in all the fancy outfits!”
Former airport worker Stacey first broke into the public domain fronting documentary Blood, Sweat and T-Shirts in 2008, uncovering the reality of child exploitation in Indian sweatshops. From there, she became a BBC Three regular, going on to lead several of her own Stacey Dooley Investigates series, including Coming Here Soon, Stacey Dooley in the USA, My Hometown Fanatics and Sex in Strange Places.
As a result of her hard-hitting reporting, she was awarded an MBE at the start of 2018. Could she be lifting the Glitterball trophy in the same year too?
Stacey will be living the Strictly experience alongside Katie Piper, Faye Tozer, Danny John-Jules, Joe Sugg, Vick Hope, Graeme Swann and Dr Ranj Singh. Keep your eyes peeled for the rest of our 2018 line-up very soon on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
